Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in Boksburg. The role involves interpreting technical drawings and specifications, creating and optimizing CNC programs for milling and other machining operations, and setting up machines to ensure accurate production of components. Day-to-day tasks include selecting appropriate tools, feeds, and speeds; testing and adjusting programs; troubleshooting machining issues; and collaborating with machine operators and quality personnel to maintain dimensional accuracy and product consistency. The CNC Programmer will also monitor production runs, implement process improvements, maintain documentation for programs and setups, and follow all safety and quality procedures on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong CNC Programming and Programming skills for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC machine programs.
  • Candidates should possess solid Machining and Milling skills for setting up machines, selecting tools, and managing cutting parameters.
  • Candidates should possess Technical Drawing skills for reading and interpreting engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering is beneficial.
  • Experience with CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, or similar) and CAM software is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a production team and communicate clearly with operators, engineers, and supervisors.
  • Prior experience in a CNC workshop or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
