Role Description The Community Scheme Portfolio Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Blouberg. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of sectional title and HOA/community schemes, including overseeing day-to-day operations, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and governing documents. The Portfolio Manager will prepare and manage budgets, monitor levy collections, and present financial reports to trustees and committees. The role involves organizing and attending meetings, drafting agendas and minutes, and maintaining clear communication with owners, trustees, service providers, and internal teams. The Portfolio Manager will also handle queries, resolve disputes where appropriate, and support long-term planning to improve the performance and sustainability of each scheme.
Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial statements, operational data, and scheme performance metrics.
  • Practical knowledge of finance, including budgeting, levy management, cash flow oversight, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in portfolio management, ideally within property or community schemes, with the ability to manage multiple complexes effectively.
  • Understanding of investments and trading principles beneficial for advising on reserve funds and long-term financial planning.
  • Knowledge of sectional title and HOA/community scheme legislation and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with trustees, owners, and service providers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
  • Proficiency with property management or accounting software and standard office applications.
  • Relevant qualification in property management, finance, business administration, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on-site, collaborate within a team environment, and maintain professional conduct under pressure.
