Job Purpose: The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to develop, implement and maintain community development policies.
Minimum Requirements:
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/ B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification).
A minimum of 8 years recognisable experience in Community Development after obtaining the required qualification;
Grade 2: A minimum of 18 years recognisable experience;
Grade 3: A minimum of 28 years recognisable experience.
Recommendation: A valid code B drivers’ license.
Key Performance Areas:
Develop, implement and maintain community development policies.
Monitor, interpret and review legislation, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current requirements.
Keep up to date with new developments in the community development field.
Perform the administrative functions required in the unit.
Stakeholder management and integrated work with other government entities.
Manage the department’s District Development Model sector plan.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of NPO sector and Community Development.
Policy analysis and development.
Legislation of local government and Integrated Development Planning.
Extensive knowledge and experience in stakeholder management.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), computer literacy, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, planning and organizing.
Ability to compile complex reports.
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 367,878 – R 413,373
Grade 2: R 429,573 – R 487,650
Grade 3: R 507,198 – R 687,918 (OSD as prescribed).
