Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a Commis Chef for a luxury hotel in George
. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and passionate culinary professional looking to grow within a high-end hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare food in line with assigned kitchen sections, specific menus, portion sizes, and cost standards
Ensure consistency in presentation and quality of food served
Care for all operating equipment, including cleaning, repairs, and proper storage
Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, cleanliness, recycling, pest control, and waste management standards
Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Minimum of 6 months formal chef training
At least 1 year of experience as a pastry chef with a focus on bakery production
Experience in a 4-star or 5-star kitchen environment will be advantageous
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Physically fit and able to lift and handle large kitchen equipment and food produce
Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about culinary excellence
Willing to work weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts as required
Must have own accommodation in George or nearby areas
