Farm Utility Driver & Maintenance Worker (CDL Preferred)
Part-Time Year-Round | Full-Time During Harvest | Paid Weekly
Burnham Orchards is looking for one or two dependable, versatile people who enjoy farm life and can handle a mix of driving, farm work, equipment operation, and general maintenance.
This is not a traditional desk job or a dedicated driving route. The work changes based on the season and what the farm needs that day.
Responsibilities may include:
- Driving a straight truck or CDL vehicle on local delivery routes
- Making occasional third-shift deliveries to a regional grocery retailer
- Operating tractors and other farm equipment
- Assisting with harvest, loading, deliveries, and general farm work
- Completing basic repairs, maintenance, and handyman projects
- Jumping in wherever help is needed around the farm
This position is part-time year-round and becomes full-time during our approximately three-month harvest season. Some overnight or third-shift availability is required for delivery routes. Most routes are local, and drivers return home after the route.
The ideal candidate:
- Has a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Has a CDL or relevant straight-truck driving experience
- Is comfortable operating farm equipment
- Has mechanical, maintenance, construction, or handyman abilities
- Is dependable, flexible, and willing to perform different types of work
- Enjoys working outdoors and being part of a farm environment
- Can safely lift, load, and perform physical work
Applicants may be asked to complete a driving, mechanical, or general maintenance skills assessment. Employment may begin on a trial basis so both parties can make sure the position is a good fit.
Pay depends on licensing, experience, responsibilities, and demonstrated skills. Employees are paid weekly.
