About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Coating & Sandblaster Foreman to lead a field crew performing abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and coating applications on water storage tanks and other industrial structures.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The Foreman will work alongside the crew while overseeing daily production, equipment setup, surface preparation, coating activities, quality, and jobsite safety. The ideal candidate has strong blasting and coating experience and understands how to successfully manage work in confined spaces and demanding field environments.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to PPS Coating’s safety policies, including PPE, meetings, and JSA’s.
- Submit time.
- Complete daily QC documentation and perform QC prior to QA inspections.
- Familiarize yourself with project specifications & attend pre-job meetings to review project specifics, budgets, and expectations.
- Monitor project progress, staying within budget and timelines.
- Plan and direct coating operations.
- Set and support worker goals based on estimated product rates.
- Order equipment and materials in advance.
- Obtain POs for rentals and materials.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and suppliers.
- Provide weekly equipment, material, and manpower updates to the superintendent.
- Conduct weekly truck and equipment inspections.
- Work may consist of weekends and overtime.
Skill and Ability:
- Demonstrates knowledge of abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and coating application processes
- Demonstrates ability to train others
- Demonstrates ability to lead a crew in upholding quality standards
- Demonstrates ability to estimate labor hours, plan tasks, and allocate time effectively to meet project deadlines
- Demonstrates knowledge of QA & QC requirements, including inspection
- Demonstrates ability to use applicable IT technology
- Demonstrates ability to complete Job Tracking
- Demonstrates Safety Leadership and ability to influence safe behavior of others
- Demonstrates ability to give Crew and Management feedback
