Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
Overtime: As needed based on workload and production schedule

Position Summary
Eagle Ironworks is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented CNC Saw Operator to operate our CNC band saw and prepare structural steel materials for fabrication.
The ideal candidate has experience operating industrial saws and working with structural steel, understands how to read measurements and cutting angles, and is comfortable working with overhead cranes and rigging equipment. Accuracy, organization, and strong math skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely rig and move structural steel materials into the saw using overhead cranes, chains, slings, and other rigging equipment.
- Set up and operate the CNC saw for required cuts.
- Enter and verify cutting dimensions, quantities, and angles before starting each job.
- Accurately cut material to specified lengths and degrees.
- Understand and perform both straight cuts and angled/miter cuts.
- Verify measurements and cut pieces for accuracy.
- Unload and organize cut material for the layout/fitting department.
- Clearly identify and organize cut pieces to prevent material mix-ups.
- Maintain an accurate material inventory log, including material received, material used, and remaining stock.
- Perform daily machine maintenance and inspections.
- Keep the saw, surrounding work area, and material storage areas clean and organized.
- Monitor saw blades, coolant, and other consumables and report when replacement or maintenance is needed.
- Identify damaged, incorrect, or questionable material before it enters production.
- Follow all company safety procedures and proper rigging practices.
- Work closely with shop management, detailers, and layout/fitting personnel to keep production moving efficiently.
- Perform other fabrication-shop duties as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience operating a CNC saw, band saw, or similar industrial cutting equipment preferred.
- Structural steel or metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable working around overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
- Strong understanding of measurements and dimensions.
- Excellent math skills are required.
- Must be able to accurately calculate lengths, quantities, and cutting angles.
- Must understand the difference between straight cuts and angled cuts and be able to set up the saw accordingly.
- Ability to read shop drawings, cut lists, and material specifications is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision.
- Must be dependable and willing to work overtime when required.
- Ability to lift and handle materials safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Must follow all OSHA and company safety requirements.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who is mechanically inclined, good with numbers, organized, and takes pride in producing accurate work. This position is critical to keeping the fabrication shop supplied with correctly cut material, so reliability and attention to detail are extremely important.
This is a hands-on position in a structural steel fabrication shop.
Pay: $27.00 – $32.00 per hour
