Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Lead the onboarding process for new coaches, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles in the field.

Conduct regular training sessions and briefings for club coaches to build deeper common understanding of and integrity to the Smart Start programme and respond timeously to learning and programme adaptation.

Support and coordinate the delivery of annual coach gatherings to ensure learning, engagement, and skills development.

Co-design and co-develop the introduction of a (new) “master” club coach role and associated system in the network.

Quality Assurance & In-field Support

Contribute to the continual (re) design and improvement of quality assurance processes for coaches.

Conduct in-field coaching and quality assurance visits to improve the quality of club coaching practice across the network (incl. all franchisors & branches).

Make reasoned judgements about the quality of club coaching.

Provide feedback to Club Coach supervisors and the hub team to ensure programme adaptations and in-field learning are enabled.

Offer support and coaching to new club coaches and ongoing support to club coach teams to improve performance and support fidelity of the Smart Start programme and coaching QA systems.

Identify in-field issues or barriers affecting multiple coaches’ performance and address these or escalate these to the relevant teams for resolution as appropriate.

Consolidate learnings and share these with the Hub Coach Network Manager and relevant colleagues.

Provide constructive feedback and recognize areas for improvement, fostering a developmental mindset among coaches.

Recording (Documenting), Reporting & Reflecting

Record and report appropriately on in-field activities including support provided to coaches.

Contribute to the coach individual development plan and update the club coach dashboard.

Requirements

Key Specifications

Qualifications

Experience in Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector or education, with a focus on coaching networks for ECD practitioners or educational workers.

Excellent training, coaching, and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to work with diverse teams.

Experience as a Smart Start club coach is required and experience as a team leader will be an added benefit.

Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to report on activities and escalate issues effectively.

A developmental mindset, with the ability to work with individuals’ strengths and provide supportive, constructive feedback.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

High level of organizational and planning abilities.

An independent worker, who is self-motivated and organized with good time management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.

Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

General Skills

Good planning and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and achieving objectives.
