We’re currently scaling a team to build a large-scale Azure data platform for a leading South African banking group as part of a global finance transformation programme — landing data from Oracle Fusion and a wide estate of source systems into a structured, production-grade Azure environment. This is the engineering core of a foundational build that reporting, analytics, and an AI-driven query layer will run on top of.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for two Azure Data Engineers to join the build.
What you’ll do:
– Build and maintain production ingestion pipelines landing Oracle Fusion and source-system data into Azure
– Work across Fabric and/or Databricks (a stack-agnostic environment) building dimensional models for General Ledger and Cost Centre reporting
– Support downstream consumption for an enterprise-wide data platform feeding operational, financial, and leadership reporting
– Collaborate closely with a Data Architect and a Banking Domain BA to keep the build aligned to real accounting logic, not just a technical spec
– Contribute to pipeline reliability, monitoring, and documentation as the platform scales across more source systems and regions
What we’re looking for:
– 5+ years Azure data engineering experience — ADF, Synapse, Fabric, and/or Databricks in live production environments, not just sandbox or POC work
– Comfortable with dimensional modelling and enterprise-scale pipeline design
– Prior banking or financial-services experience strongly preferred
– Azure certification (Data Engineer Associate or equivalent) a plus
– South African, based locally, and available to start within the next 1-2 months
