JOB DESCRIPTION
Close Protector
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION.
The Close Protection Officer is responsible for providing personal protection to clients, ensuring their safety and security at all times. This includes preventing potential threats, managing risks, and reacting swiftly and appropriately to emergencies or dangerous situations. The Close Protection Officer works proactively to assess threats, plan security measures, and respond to any incidents that could jeopardize the safety of the client. Their role also includes maintaining discretion and confidentiality while establishing a trustworthy relationship with the client
RESPONSIBILITIES
Protecting clients: Ensure the safety of high-profile individuals or clients during their daily activities, travels, and public appearances.
Risk assessment and threat evaluation: Constantly assess the environment for potential security risks and adjust security protocols as needed.
Travel coordination: Plan safe routes for clients, ensuring secure transportation and accommodation when necessary.
Crisis management: Quickly and effectively handle any security breaches, threats, or emergencies, ensuring the safety of the client.
Surveillance and monitoring: Monitor surroundings for suspicious activity, and report or respond to any threats that may arise.
Confidentiality and professionalism: Maintain the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with the client and others.
Requirements
A detailed CV outlining relevant experience in close protection, security, or related fields.
Must hold a valid PSIRA Grade A certification, which is required for providing close protection services in South Africa.
Grade 12
A recognized Close Protection Certificate from an accredited training institution, demonstrating the necessary skills and knowledge for the role.
A valid South African Identity Document (SA ID) or equivalent, required for employment.
