Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Ridgeview has an opportunity available for a Clinic Receptionist to join the team.
The main purpose of this role is to attend to patients both on the phone and in person.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinating and organizing appointments and documentation to facilitate smooth clinic operations and support quality patient care.
Registering patients according to established standards.
Assisting patients with medical forms and insurance documentation.
Monitoring and maintaining clinical equipment, stationery, and medication.
Informing patients of clinic procedures and managing patient records.
Opening new patient files following standard procedures.
Ensuring patient information accuracy.
Processing medical aid payments.
Managing patient flow through scheduled appointments.
Obtaining medical reports when required.
Maintaining a clean and confidential reception area.
Answering incoming calls promptly and professionally.
Providing accurate information to callers and taking detailed messages.
Assisting walk-in guests and providing relevant contact information.
Responding to emergencies and assisting distressed patients.
Advising patients on medical aid procedures and following up on feedback.
Minimum requirements include:
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Following and giving instructions clearly.
South African citizenship.
Dedicated workstation with most work at a desk.
Clear criminal and credit records.
Driver’s license and reliable transport are advantageous.
