Purpose of the Job:
Ceenex (Pty) Ltd is seeking to employ an experienced and well organised candidate to fill the role of a Civil Engineering Designer at our PRETORIA office. The applicant must be able to:
Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings in the Engineering Field.
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Qualifications & Experience:
BSc/BEng Civil from an accredited university or equivalent.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in relevant (bulk earthworks, roads, storm water, sewer, water reticulation) design field; ideally with some site experience.
Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants design is advantageous.
Candidate with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) would be an advantage. If such registration is not in place a timeline for such registration must be agreed.
Skills & Knowledge:
The Civil Engineering Designer must focus on the following:
Competent in Design Software in Engineering Environment.
AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Infrastructure Design Automation Suite (iDAS).
Building Information Modelling (BIM).
MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects.
Excellent listening skills.
A willingness to solve problem and have a passion for digital tools.
Strong verbal & written communication skills in English.
Resilience – being able to handle complaints from customers.
The ability to work as part of a team.
Be self-driven & pro-active.
A high level of accuracy & attention to detail.
Be a self-starter who shows initiative.
Analytical with high EQ.
Client focus and exercise a high level of resilience.
