Job Purpose
The Department of the Premier, Children’s Commissioner Office, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a dynamic individual to promote the rights and well‑being of children in the Western Cape Province. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate investigations and resolve enquiries into service delivery efficiencies to children in the Western Cape.
- Conduct research into policies and legislation pertaining to the well‑being and rights of children and access to services.
- Report on the activities of the Children’s Commissioner.
- Provide information and advice on children’s rights to persons, institutions or organs of state in the Western Cape whose policies and practices relate to children.
- Prepare, assess and submit investigative reports and develop supporting interventions.
- Support the Western Cape Children’s Commissioner functions and create awareness and understanding of children’s rights with identified audiences.
- Support investigations related to the mandate of the Commissioner.
Qualifications
- 3‑year tertiary qualification (National Diploma) at NQF level 6 recognised by SAQA in Social Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in a similar environment (experience in children’s rights, youth and community development, and child protection).

Remuneration
R 413 001 per annum (Salary level
8).
