Full Job Description

Responsibilities:

Initiate and lead novel and pioneering research in the behavioral sciences

Responsible for generating research grants

Provide scientific leadership

Provide mentorship to early- and mid-career scientists

Fostering collaboration through strategic partnerships

Building effective teams to conduct rigorous research

Building effective teams to promote behavioral health

Remuneration:

R 330 033 per annum (cost-to-company).

CoreRequirements:

PhD in Psychology or related field

10 years’ experience in child and adolescent mental health research

Record of 40 lifetime publications (ISI Journal articles, editorials or book chapters and technical reports) with at least 12 as first/senior author.

Record of successful income generation/grant application of

R10 mil

International recognition for scientific contributions (e.g. NRF B-or C1 rated researcher)

Successfully supervised 10 post-graduate students, including Masters/PhD, to completion.

Added advantage:

More than 10 years’ relevant experience

HPCSA registration or registration with a relevant professional body

Proven track record of publication and research dissemination in the field of child and/ adolescent mental health and/or substance use.

Proven track record of securing research grants for large muti-site projects.
