A dynamic and rapidly growing oil and gas organization is seeking an ambitious Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for a commercially astute finance professional who is excited by the challenge of building a finance function from the ground up and playing a pivotal role in the long-term growth of the business.
The successful candidate will partner closely with the executive team to establish a robust financial infrastructure, implement best-in-class accounting systems and internal controls, and provide strategic financial leadership as the organization continues to expand. Minimum Requirements
· CA(SA) qualification is essential.
. MBA would be advantageous
· 10 to 15 years’ post-qualification experience.
· Significant experience within the oil and gas sector is non-negotiable.
· Proven experience in start-up, scale-up, or high-growth organizations.
· Demonstrated ability to establish and lead a finance function from inception.
· Strong knowledge of IFRS, corporate governance, taxation, treasury, and financial reporting.
· Experience implementing ERP/accounting systems, financial controls, and reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
· Establish and lead the finance function, including building a high-performing finance team.
· Develop and implement accounting policies, financial controls, and governance frameworks.
· Select and implement accounting and ERP systems to support business growth.
· Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
· Oversee statutory reporting, annual financial statements, tax compliance, and external audits.
· Develop financial models to support commercial decision-making and business expansion.
· Manage treasury, banking relationships, and working capital.
· Provide strategic financial insight to the executive team and Board.
· Ensure compliance with IFRS, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance standards.
· Drive process improvements and establish scalable financial operations to support long-term growth.
