Position: Category Specialist (Raw Materials, Traded Goods & Chemicals/Directs)
Purpose of the job
• To support the Category Manager in the development of fact-based category strategies through analysis, research, and data collecting etc., as well as running with market enquiries (Tenders, RFPs, RFQs) and response analysis thereof.
• Ensure tracking and reporting of negotiated savings and ensure signoffs from relevant stakeholders.
• Administer and manage supply contracts, including but not limited to, service level management, price negotiations/verifications, supplier risk management, and communicating changes to stakeholders
Required outputs
• Collect data, identify and analyse trends using an understanding of sourcing processes.
• Conduct market analysis and contribute to the development of the sourcing strategy development.
• Analyse spend data, e.g., TCO analysis, regression analysis, to identify improvement/ saving opportunities
• Prepare RFI / RFP documents
• Run tender processes and analyse the returned data
• Support data collection on supplier performance (supplier scorecard) from around the organisation
• Support the preparation of supplier feedback presentations as part of the SRM process
• Support creation, cleansing, and updating of category trees on an ongoing basis
• Calculation, tracking, and reporting of achieved savings through ensuring benefits sign-off by business units
• Manage and verify price escalations and contract variations.
• Apply the relevant procurement processes and manage contractors/suppliers for the designated portfolio
• Ensure compliance with AECI Group Procurement Policy, Directives, and Centre Instructions as well as legal and regulatory requirements
• Comply with Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
