Caretaker/Maintenance Jobs in Cape Town, Western Cape 8001 at Dolce & Gabana
We are seeking a responsible, skilled, and proactive Live-In Maintenance Caretaker to oversee the upkeep, safety, and general maintenance of our property. The ideal candidate will live on-site and ensure that the facilities, grounds, and equipment are well-maintained and in good working order at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of building systems, equipment, and grounds.
Respond to maintenance requests, including plumbing, electrical, heating, carpentry, and general repairs.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in communal areas and exterior spaces.
Monitor property security, including locking/unlocking premises and reporting suspicious activity.
Coordinate with contractors and service providers when necessary.
Handle emergency repairs and be on call for urgent maintenance issues.
Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
Support tenants/residents with minor issues as needed.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
Proven experience in building maintenance or a similar caretaker role.
Strong knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
Good physical condition and ability to perform manual labour.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working independently.
Basic computer or mobile device skills for reporting/logging tasks.
Valid driver’s license.
Police Clearance Certificate may be required.
Applicants are to be single/unmarried.
Accommodation:
Modest private living quarters provided on-site, including bedroom, bathroom, kitchen.
Working Hours:
Generally 8am to 5pm, with flexibility for emergency call-outs.
