About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Onsite Canteen Manager to lead the daily operations of our staff canteen. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for food service, and demonstrates excellent leadership and organizational skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the canteen runs smoothly and efficiently, providing high-quality, nutritious meals and outstanding service to our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the onsite canteen, including food preparation, staff supervision, hygiene, and service.
Plan, create, and manage balanced menus in line with dietary guidelines and budget.
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control to ensure a high standard is maintained.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations at all times.
Manage stock levels, place orders, and maintain inventory records.
Lead, train, and motivate a team of kitchen and service staff.
Handle customer feedback professionally and make improvements as necessary.
Maintain accurate financial records, including daily takings, expenditures, and wastage.
Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective purchasing.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar role (e.g. Canteen Manager, Catering Supervisor, Kitchen Manager).
Food Safety and Hygiene certification (Level 2 or above required; Level 3 preferred).
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards.
Basic knowledge of budgeting and stock management.
Good communication skills and a team player attitude.
Desirable:
Experience in managing workplace or industrial catering environments.
First Aid certification.
Understanding of dietary and allergen requirements.
