For more than four decades, Gaston & Wyatt has built custom architectural millwork for some of the most demanding luxury residential homes in the country. From a 65,000 square foot shop in Charlottesville, we build kitchens, libraries, paneled rooms, and exterior millwork for homes in New York, Palm Beach, Boston, and beyond, and our name goes out the door on every piece. This is a Woodworker / Cabinet Maker role for someone who already knows the trade and wants to go deeper into it: curved work, radius shaper setups, veneer matching, and joinery cut to a standard most shops never ask for.
What You’ll Do
- Build custom cabinetry, casework, paneling, doors, and interior and exterior millwork from shop drawings through finished assembly
- Create and organize cut lists, determining layouts, construction methods, materials, and parts for each job
- Mill and shape lumber and run the full range of shop equipment, including sliding table saw, shaper, chain and chisel mortiser, band saw, and frame clamp
- Cut fine traditional joinery such as mortise and tenon, lock miter, dovetail, and French miter, alongside conventional dowel, pocket screw, and vacuum press methods
- Carry a project through to completion, owning its schedule and quality and setting the finishing team up to succeed
- Catch discrepancies early and work them out with engineering, your Team Leader, and the woodworkers around you
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Five years of experience in millwork, casework, or fine furniture construction
- Proficient reading and working accurately from architectural and shop drawings
- Physically able to lift and carry 75 pounds and to bend, stoop, and kneel throughout a full shift
- Dependable, detail-driven, and ready to put the finished job ahead of your own preferences
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred
- Thorough command of curved work and its joinery
- Shaper setup experience running both straight and radius items
- Veneer work, veneer matching, laminating, and pressing

Pay: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour
