C# Back End Developer
Description
We are seeking a C# Back End Developer with 5+ years of .NET development experience to join our team in Durban. This is a work from office role. Budget: R400-R440/hr max. Duration: 12 months with possible renewal. Please do not submit candidates above the stated hourly rate. The role focuses on backend .NET development, multi-component integrations, technical design, cloud and on-prem deployments, CI/CD, and strong code quality practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs using C# and .NET
- Create technical designs for features and components and contribute to architecture decisions
- Develop and maintain integrations across multiple products and components
- Build, configure and operate CI/CD pipelines using Docker and YAML
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing and maintaining test coverage
- Optimize database schemas, queries and performance
- Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams, participate in planning and delivery ceremonies
- Share knowledge, mentor junior engineers and contribute to team improvements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in .NET development with strong C# expertise
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker and YAML
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and exposure to GCP or on-prem deployments
- Strong database experience, preferably with SQL Server and T-SQL, and database optimization skills
- Proven experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and unit testing practices
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and strong collaboration skills
- Excellent problem solving, communication and mentoring skills
- Must be based in Durban and able to work from the office
