We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Specialist with a strong background in the Microsoft BI stack, specifically with hands-on experience in cube design and development using SSAS (Tabular and Multidimensional). The ideal candidate will have end-to-end experience in data integration (ETL), modelling, and reporting using tools like SSIS, Power BI, Power Pivot, Excel, and SharePoint.
This role is critical in developing, deploying, and maintaining data models (cubes) to support strategic reporting and decision-making processes across the organization.
Key responsibilities
Cube Development & Deployment
Design, build, and optimize SSAS Tabular and Multidimensional cubes to meet reporting and analytical needs.
Implement advanced DAX and MDX logic for KPIs, measures, calculated fields, and aggregations.
Deploy and manage cubes in Azure Analysis Services or Power BI Service.
ETL and Data Preparation
Design and develop ETL packages using SSIS to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
Build and maintain data marts in SQL Server to support cube processing and reporting layers.
Reporting & Visualization
Develop and maintain Power BI reports, Power Pivot dashboards, and Excel-based analytical solutions.
Publish reports to SharePoint and/or Power BI Service.
Design performance management dashboards, procurement & stock reports, and executive dashboards.
Database & Data Modelling
Design and optimize relational and dimensional data models.
Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support data preparation and validation.
Perform data reconciliation and quality checks across systems.
Performance Optimization
Tune SSAS cubes and SQL queries for performance and scalability.
Implement cube partitioning, aggregations, and process automation.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in Microsoft BI stack: SSIS, SSAS (Tabular & Multidimensional), SQL Server.
Strong expertise in cube design and deployment in both on-prem and Azure environments.
Hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Pivot, and Excel-based reporting.
Deep understanding of dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schemas).
Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, DAX, and MDX.
Experience with SharePoint integration for report delivery.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
