Business Development Officer
Under the supervision of the Principal Consultant, the Business Development Officer will:
- Develop and implement annual business development plans aligned with IDM Lesotho’s strategic objectives.
- Identify new markets, clients, sectors, and business opportunities for IDM.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare consultancy proposals, project proposals, and reports.
- Identify new business opportunities and support initiatives aimed at increasing revenue.
- Conduct market research and analyse market trends to inform business development activities.
- Maintain client databases and prepare periodic business development reports.
- Develop and maintain a robust business development pipeline.
- Develop strategies for increasing revenue from short courses, customised training, and consultancy services.
- Monitor competitors and market trends and recommend appropriate responses.
- Contribute to the achievement of annual business development and revenue targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive client database.
- Identify emerging skills-development needs in the public, private, and non-governmental sectors.
- Conduct training needs assessments for prospective clients.
- Monitor participation, client feedback, and repeat business from training programmes.
- Identify and pursue consultancy opportunities in IDM’s areas of expertise.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Business Development Coordinator.
Qualifications And Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years’ relevant experience in business development, marketing, sales, or a related field.

- Ability to identify and pursue business opportunities.
- Good report writing and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

- High level of integrity, initiative, and professionalism.
