PURPOSE: Payment systems participants and providers play an increasingly important and innovative role in creating new payment value, channels, volumes, customer segments, and enabling market ecosystems. The key focus of this role would be to identify, develop, co-create, and manage strategic partnerships and strategies for the growth of the SA payments ecosystem and Bankserv Africa customer and industry value.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop & Implement Business Strategy (includes PSPs, payments technology enablers, payments value and solutions providers).
Identify and qualify market opportunities, trends, research, and forces for growth.
Manage and report on sales and opportunity pipeline with internal stakeholders.
Mentor team members to ensure skills transfer and contribute to a positive team culture.
Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks appropriately; comply with relevant policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE:
Appropriate tertiary/business related qualification preferred.
Banking and payment industry knowledge.
Required computer literacy levels.
MS Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel).
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in Business Development.
Experience in Fintech/Payments/Banking/Financial Services industry.
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in related field with demonstrable success/projects.
