Company Description UCL Company (Pty) Ltd, based in Dalton in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands, has grown from a wattle bark milling operation founded in 1924 into a diversified manufacturing enterprise producing wattle tannin extracts, sugar, and pine lumber. REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 (Matric).

A recognised trade qualification, apprenticeship, or trade test in building, plumbing, or a related maintenance discipline will be advantageous.

EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

•    Minimum of five (5) years’ practical experience in a building, plumbing, or maintenance environment.

•    Sound knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing systems, general civil works, and maintenance project coordination.

•    Supervisory experience with the ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.

•    Computer literacy.

•    A valid driver’s licence

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Coordinating daily building and plumbing maintenance activities.

•    Supervising maintenance employees, contractors, and service providers.

•    Planning and executing building repairs, renovations, plumbing installations, and infrastructure improvement projects.

•    Inspecting buildings, roofs, drainage systems, fencing, and other facilities to identify maintenance requirements.

•    Ensuring maintenance work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

•    Assisting with budget control, overtime management, and efficient use of maintenance resources.

•    Promoting preventative maintenance to improve equipment and infrastructure reliability.

•    Coaching and developing team members while promoting a high-performance culture.

•    Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) requirements and Company safety procedures.

•  Maintaining effective communication with production departments and other stakeholders to support operational requirements.
