About our client
Our client is an independently owned skincare business with a globally recognised hero product and distribution across more than 160 countries. They’ve got that rare combo of real scale and “let’s build what’s next” energy — curious about human behaviour, ambitious about brand growth, and serious about high-quality marketing. They’re looking for a Country Brand Manager to lead brand building in South Africa from their Cape Town HQ.
What the job involves
-
Owning the local brand strategy and annual marketing plan — from insight to execution
-
Building breakthrough integrated campaigns (ATL/BTL/digital/retail), aligned to global brand direction and local opportunity
-
Managing agencies (creative, media, PR, production) and keeping the work sharp, on-brief and on time
-
Leading the budget: planning, forecasting, tracking ROI and optimising spend
-
Driving growth across key channels (retail, pharmacy, e-commerce) with strong trade and customer collaboration
-
Using consumer, category and performance data to make smarter decisions (you’re equal parts story + spreadsheets)
-
Partnering closely with Sales, Trade Marketing, Insights, Supply Chain and Global Marketing to land plans beautifully
-
Supporting product launches and innovation rollouts — messaging, comms, assets, go-to-market plans
-
Protecting brand consistency across touchpoints (pack, comms, partnerships, in-store, social, etc.)
-
Reporting on performance and learning — and turning that into better work, fast
What you need to be considered
- Solid Brand Management experience (typically 3–5+ years, or equivalent depth) within FMCG / OTC / beauty / personal care
-
Proven experience building brands (not just “running campaigns”) — you’ve driven growth and can show it
-
Strong integrated marketing capability across ATL + digital + retail/trade environments
-
Confident agency leadership: you can inspire great work and challenge when needed
-
Budget management experience (planning + forecasting + ROI thinking)
-
Excellent stakeholder management — you’re calm, clear, persuasive, and you get things moving
-
A balance of creativity and commercial rigour (left brain + right brain)
-
Cape Town-based, and happy being in-office as your default
Bonus points if you…
-
Have worked on a brand with global alignment (and know how to adapt without diluting)
-
Have experience in pharmacy/health retail channels
-
Love behavioural insight and can turn it into simple, powerful brand ideas
-
Have managed or mentored junior marketers
