SUMMARY:
Our client in the roadfreight industry is urgently looking to employ an experienced Branch Manager at their organization
POSITION INFO:
Location: Polokwane, Limpopo
Requirements: Please note if you do not have roadfreight and logistics management experience your application will not be considered
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, or a related field an advantage.
- Proven experience in road freight and logistics management, with at least 5-10 years of experience in a similar position.
- Must have experience in the roadfreight and logistics industry (non-negotiable)
- Must be between the ages of 35 – 44 (non negotiable)
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
- Coordinate and optimize the use of resources, including vehicles, personnel and equipment.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure and accident-free work environment.
Warehouse Management
- Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and
- dispatch.
- Ensure accurate inventory control, stock reconciliation, and system integrity.
- Monitor warehouse productivity, space utilisation, and workflow optimisation.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational
- consistency and compliance.
- Drive health and safety standards within the warehouse environment, ensuring adherence to
- legislative and company requirements.
- Manage warehouse staffing levels, performance, training, and discipline.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and optimal use of material handling equipment.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work culture, promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
- Identify opportunities for business expansion and collaborate with the sales team to secure new clients.
- Address client concerns and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the branch budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and costsaving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate billing and invoicing processes.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high service standards.
- Conduct regular audits to assess and improve operational efficiency.
