A reputable accounting firm in George is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join their team.

Description:
- Perform the full bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance.
- Process daily cashbooks and bank reconciliations.
- Capture supplier invoices and process creditor payments.
- Process customer invoices and debtor allocations.
- Reconcile debtor and creditor accounts.
Client Bookkeeping
- Manage daily bookkeeping functions for multiple clients
- Capture financial transactions accurately (sales, purchases, payments, receipts)
- Process bank, credit card, and petty cash transactions
- Maintain and update general ledgers
Reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Reconcile debtors and creditors accounts
- Prepare and reconcile VAT, PAYE, and UIF submissions
Financial Reporting
- Prepare management accounts
- Assist with financial statements preparation
- Provide monthly/quarterly reports as required
- Flag discrepancies and areas needing attention
Compliance & Statutory Submissions
- Process VAT201 submissions
- Assist with EMP201/EMP501 submissions
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations
- Liaise with SARS where required
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Relevant Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification (Certificate, Diploma or Degree) advantageous.
- Minimum of 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience.
- Experience processing books up to Trial Balance.
- Sound knowledge of South African accounting principles.
- Experience with VAT, reconciliations and month-end procedures.
- Computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working on accounting software such as Sage Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks or similar.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
