Key Output
Assist the Boilermakers in their day-to-day activities in the Welding Bay.
Assist in the assembly and disassembly of fabricated components.
Know the use of tools, and which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the assembler has them within reach.
Assisting with rigging operations.
Assist with housekeeping operations.
Clean and maintain facilities and equipment.
Assist artisan / operatives to obtain and check parts for jobs.
Maintain a safe and orderly workplace.
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Grade12
Relevant previous work experience advantageous.
Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size.
Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within 90 days of appointment.
Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within 90 days of appointment.
Ability to follow instructions under supervision.
Drivers licence – Code B will be an added advantage.
Be able to work at heights and confined spaces.
Be aware of safety rules and regulations in the work environment.
