People management
The Data Scientist Lead provides guidance, mentoring and support to team members to ensure that each team is working efficiently and cohesively. This role provides the necessary mentoring through regular team meetings and employee one on one meetings. Feedback is also given though on the job training. They are accountable for knowledge sharing and mentoring the team on all things data science and statistics related.
Data analysis
This role is responsible for the collection of data from external sources to enhance organisational understanding of the changes in data trends. They lead the team in statistical and data analysis using tools for real-time analyses, time series trends etc. They carry out research of new data analysis technologies and validating their value within the environment, such as using Azure Databricks to do data science tasks. The Data Scientist Lead is accountable for utilisation of Data Visualizations tools in order to clearly communicate findings and enable self-service functionality where suited.
Stakeholder relationships
The Data Scientist Lead keeps the business abreast of data analysis feedback, trends, issues, and relevant statistics. This includes ensuring that internal stakeholders are kept updated of any business updates and external stakeholders are kept informed of business updates and/or shifts in customer sentiment. This role pro-actively offers analytical solutions to ensure that the business objectives are achieved and improved upon.
Reporting and analysis
This role evaluates processes to ensure they are compliant with various regulatory standards and other rules and regulations of the industry. They create stakeholder reports on a regular basis. The Data Scientist Lead reviews reports and data of third-party service providers that provide input into new business processes and possible touchpoints in other systems and/or processes.
