Job Purpose
The Barista is responsible for delivering a consistently high standard of beverage and food service to Executive Management, employees, and guests, while maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and operational readiness of the office pantry, canteen, and boardroom facilities. The role combines hospitality service delivery with day-to-day facilities support, and requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of stock, equipment, and health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage & Food Service
• Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages to Executive Management (EXCO), employees, and guests.
• Serve breakfast and lunch to EXCO in line with agreed schedules and standards.
• Prepare for and coordinate the weekly Friday lunch.
• Process sales transactions for the staff canteen accurately and in line with company procedures.
Cleaning & Hygiene
• Clean Executive offices and open-plan office areas.
• Stock and clean the canteen fridge on a regular basis.
• Clean floors and windows in designated areas.
• Check plugs and all machines/equipment used to ensure safe working condition.
• Check expiry dates on stock and remove/report expired items.
Facilities & Administrative Support
• Go through the boardroom checklist ahead of meetings to ensure readiness.
• Run office errands as required, on an ongoing basis.
• Count utensils and plates.
• Assist with waste management and restocking of supplies.
• Open and/or close the office depending on assigned shift.
• Attend weekly meetings with the Manager for planning and updates.
Compliance
• Comply with all health and safety rules and procedures at all times.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Requirements & Attributes
• Prior experience in a barista, hospitality, or front-of-house support role preferred.
• Strong hygiene and food safety awareness.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work shift patterns including opening/closing duties.
• Good interpersonal skills, with a professional and courteous manner toward Executive Management, staff, and guests.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks under time pressure.
• Basic numeracy for handling canteen sales transactions.
Working Relationships
The Barista works closely with the front office team, EXCO, and all Millat Group employees, and interacts directly with visiting guests, requiring consistent professionalism and a service-oriented approach.
