Job Title: Banqueting and Events Manager

Salary: ZAR 27,500 per month
Job Summary:
A renowned hospitality establishment in Cape Town is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Banqueting and Events Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of event operations. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a passion for delivering exceptional service across corporate, social, and private functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of events, ensuring a seamless experience that reflects the highest standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of banqueting and event operations, including weddings, conferences, gala dinners, and private functions
Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into detailed event plans
Coordinate with internal departments (kitchen, service, housekeeping, AV) to ensure flawless execution
Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability and cost control
Supervise and train banqueting staff, ensuring consistent service excellence and adherence to SOPs
Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations to continuously improve service delivery
Manage inventory of banqueting supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness and maintenance
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations
Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in banqueting/events management within a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment
Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
Proven track record of successfully managing multiple events simultaneously
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control
Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
