Location: Pinetown
We are looking for a highly motivated Production Manager for our Bag Making Department. The individual should have good knowledge of the plastic (garbage) bag making process with a good understanding of the machinery employed as well as the technical aspects of the process. Some understanding of the blown film extrusion process would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Production planning – Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demands.
Supervise production teams and monitor performance.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and resolve production-related issues.
Optimizeresource utilization, including materials, manpower, and equipment.
Analyse production data and implement improvements to boost efficiency.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Enforce health and safety policies across the production area.
Departmental budgeting (financial & human capital).
Cost management.
Collaborate with the Sales team for forecasting purposes.
Collaborate with the Buyer forinventory managementpurposes.
Stay up to date on industry trends and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in production management or plastic production would be advantageous.
Experience in a management role.
Min 3 years supervision experience.
5 – 10 years of experience in a plastics manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of production processes and quality standards.
Leadershipskills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
Computer knowledge.
A working knowledge of SAP or any similar ERP system would be advantageous.
Assertive and charismatic personality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good verbal and writtencommunication skills.
Fluency in Isizulu would be advantageous.
Ability to think strategically and developcreative solutions.
