This is a remote position. You must have a South African Bank account.
Minimum 3 days per week. Remuneration is based on skill and experience.
Applicants should be based in South Africa / remote.
Role: Backend Developer
Overview: You will work in a backend dev role in a small team environment.
Possible Responsibilities:
you will be responsible for the web and mobile apps and their operations
CI/CD and DevOps – ensure sites are up and respond to any bugs or issues
manage Android and App Store app releases
feature improvements – implement fixes and enhancements on existing features
design and implementation of new features
User Interface (front end fixes)
Translate user requirements into easy-to-use product features
Essential requirements:
Good listener, team player
Ability to work in a team
Ability to manage your own work schedule
Attention to detail
Reliability and timeliness
Work remotely and have your own computer initially
Technical Skills:
Python Django web framework
Django rest framework (rest APIs)
Docker container environments
Make commands and bash scripts, cron jobs
Sentry error management
PGSQL (basic)
Google Play Store / Apple App Store product releases and management
React Native (mobile app) (optional)
Knowledge of geo-django e.g. GDAL desirable.
