Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems, including powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Repair and maintain vehicles by replacing worn or faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, suspension components, wiring harnesses, and electrical systems.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to accurately troubleshoot electrical problems and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and tire rotations to ensure safety and reliability.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools efficiently to complete repairs with precision.
- Diagnose complex issues in GM vehicles and other makes/models by leveraging automotive diagnostics expertise and technical knowledge.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Maintain detailed service records and assist in auto estimating processes to provide transparent communication with customers regarding repairs needed.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair across various vehicle systems.
- Extensive knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and automotive electrical systems for accurate troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with ADAS technology and the ability to calibrate or repair advanced driver assistance features.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools for efficient fault detection and resolution.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing powertrain components, vehicle suspension systems, transmissions, diesel engines, and general maintenance procedures.
- Skilled in interpreting automotive wiring diagrams and understanding vehicle systems for precise repairs.
- Experience with auto estimating software is a plus for accurate job costing and customer communication.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
