Automotive Reconditioning & Quality Control Specialist
Carrigan Auto Group – Manchester, NH
$17.50–$20.00 per hour | Full-Time / Part time | Monday–Friday | NO WEEKENDS
Make Every Vehicle — and Our Facility — Ready With Pride
At Carrigan Auto Group, the job isn’t finished when the technician puts down the tools.
Every repaired vehicle needs to leave our shop clean, presentable, checked over, and ready for the customer. Our facility should be held to that same standard.
We’re looking for an Automotive Reconditioning & Quality Control Specialist to join our Manchester team supporting Precision Imports and Precision Autoworks.
A major part of this position is washing and vacuuming customer vehicles after service. You will be responsible for making sure completed vehicles don’t go back to customers covered in road grime, shop dust, footprints, or debris.
This position will also help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our offices, customer areas, bathrooms, and common areas. We want our entire facility to reflect the same level of care we expect in our work.
You’ll also serve as the final set of eyes on completed vehicles, helping us catch anything that may have been overlooked before the keys are handed back.
If you take pride in making vehicles and workspaces look good, notice the little things other people miss, and enjoy staying busy, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll DoVehicle Washing & Cleaning — A Major Part of the Job
A significant portion of your day will be spent preparing completed vehicles for customer delivery.
You’ll:
- Wash customer vehicles after repairs and service
- Vacuum vehicle interiors before delivery
- Clean dirt, dust, fingerprints, footprints, and normal shop-related mess
- Make sure windows, mirrors, wheels, and exterior surfaces are presentable
- Clean door openings and other areas as needed
- Make sure floor mats and interior areas are clean and properly positioned
- Keep the wash bay clean, stocked, and organized
- Work through completed vehicles efficiently so cars are ready before the customer arrives
We want customers to open the door to their repaired vehicle and immediately feel like we took care of it.
Facility, Office & Bathroom Cleaning
This isn’t only a vehicle-cleaning position.
You’ll also help make sure our Manchester facilities stay clean, professional, and presentable for customers and employees.
Responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and maintaining customer and employee bathrooms
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping office and common areas
- Emptying trash and replacing liners
- Cleaning counters, tables, doors, glass, and other frequently touched surfaces
- Keeping customer waiting areas clean and organized
- Keeping offices and shared spaces presentable
- Restocking bathroom and cleaning supplies as needed
- Helping keep entrances, walkways, parking areas, and other customer-facing areas clean
- Identifying cleaning or maintenance issues before they become a problem
We’re an automotive repair business. Things get dirty.
Part of this job is seeing that dirt and taking care of it without needing someone to point at it first.
Final Vehicle Quality Control
After the vehicle is repaired and cleaned, you’ll help perform the final check before delivery.
Responsibilities include:
- Review the repair order and verify listed work appears to have been completed
- Check for warning lights or obvious concerns
- Look for fluid leaks or loose components
- Verify underbody shields and splash panels are installed correctly
- Check engine covers and other removed components
- Verify wheel center caps and valve stem caps are installed
- Check tire pressures and fluid levels as directed
- Road test vehicles when requested
- Bring anything questionable to the attention of the technician, foreman, or advisor before the customer sees it
You are not expected to diagnose complicated automotive problems.
You are expected to pay attention.
Vehicle Delivery & Shop Support
You’ll also help keep the operation moving throughout the day by:
- Staging completed vehicles for customer pickup
- Moving vehicles throughout the facility
- Helping technicians with vehicle movement
- Retrieving parts when needed
- Providing customer shuttle rides when needed
- Keeping the parking lot and delivery areas organized
- Helping maintain a clean and professional shop
- Assisting wherever needed to keep technicians productive and vehicles moving
This Is a Hands-On Position
We want to be completely clear about what this job is.
You will wash cars.
You will vacuum cars.
You will clean bathrooms.
You will clean offices and common areas.
You will be outside and in the wash bay.
You will move vehicles throughout the day.
And you’ll play an important role in making sure our vehicles and our facility represent the level of professionalism we expect from Carrigan Auto Group.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working around vehicles and wants more responsibility than a traditional detail, janitorial, or lot position.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in clean, finished work
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Sees something that needs to be cleaned or handled and takes care of it
- Doesn’t need someone constantly telling them what to do next
- Is comfortable washing and vacuuming multiple vehicles throughout the day
- Is comfortable cleaning bathrooms, offices, and common areas
- Works efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Notices when something doesn’t look right
- Is willing to jump in and help wherever needed
- Can work in a fast-paced automotive environment
- Can safely operate cars, SUVs, vans, and light trucks
- Can drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Has a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Previous detailing, recon, dealership, repair shop, facilities, or automotive experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train someone with the right attitude and work ethic.
