Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 per month (depending on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced CAD Draughtsman to support ongoing water and wastewater treatment projects. The successful candidate will have proven experience in AutoCAD Plant 3D, 3D plant modelling, and the development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
This is a 1-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance. Candidates must be available to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Develop and update P&IDs for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Produce piping layouts, general arrangement drawings, isometrics, and process plant layouts.
- Develop accurate 3D plant models for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical, civil, electrical, and process engineering teams.
- Incorporate design changes and maintain drawing control throughout project execution.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Draughting, Mechanical Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in CAD draughting within industrial, water, or wastewater projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated experience producing and interpreting P&IDs.
- Good understanding of piping systems, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and process plant layouts.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight project deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Advantageous
- Experience on municipal water and wastewater treatment plant projects.
- Experience with pump stations, treatment works, and process piping systems.
- Knowledge of clash detection and 3D model coordination.
