About the Role
We’re looking for a Junior Auction Cataloguer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine curiosity for fine antiques, silver, porcelain, glassware and the stories behind them and who is looking to build a career in the auction world.
You’ll work closely with our specialists to research, describe and prepare lots ahead of each sale, helping ensure every item is catalogued with the accuracy and care our clients and buyers expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and catalogue lots across categories including antiques, silver, porcelain and glassware
- Accurately record item descriptions, provenance, condition and estimates
- Maintain organised, detailed records using Excel
- Liaise with specialists and support the team ahead of each auction
- Assist with the day-to-day preparation and administration of auction lots
Requirements
- A genuine interest in antiques, silver, porcelain, glassware and decorative arts
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable, organised and able to manage deadlines
- Strong written communication skills
Preferred
A qualification in Fine Arts, Interior Design or the Arts would be an advantage
