Job Summary:

We have anexcitingopportunity for an Associate Accountant tojoin our teamin South Africa. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing GL accounts reconciliations, debtor and creditor cash allocation, and preparing month-end reports. You will also be responsible for month-end journals and assist in documenting accounting projects and preparing accounting reports and year-end activities.

What you will do:

Handle accounting tasks of moderate complexity with someautonomyfor decision-making within delegated authority.

Identify and escalate inconsistencies or concerns beyond delegated authority to management for resolution.

Utilise basic accounting principles and procedures in your daily tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.

Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of accounting systems.

Understand and contribute to the department’scontinuous improvementobjectives, measure progress, and address any identified issues.

What will put you forward:

A completed BCom accounting degree is preferred, but a similar qualification/certification will be considered.

2+ years’ experience in a similar position, with a strong focus on daily payment allocations, cash management, bank reconciliations, and cashbook allocations.

MS Office Suite – Advanced Excel skills required.

Experience with an ERP System.

Knowledge of U.S. GAAP will be advantageous.
