About
the role
Scotch & Soda South Africa is looking for an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our Morningside store in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Working alongside the Store Manager, you’ll help lead the team in delivering exceptional customer experiences while supporting sales performance, operational excellence, and visual merchandising standards. You’ll play a key role in bringing Scotch & Soda’s free‑spirited Amsterdam heritage to life while helping create an exceptional retail experience that reflects our brand.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in leading, coaching, and developing a high‑performing retail team.
- Assist in driving sales performance and achieving store targets.
- Help oversee daily store operations, stock management, and administration.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and build lasting client relationships.
- Work closely with our Visual Merchandising team to maintain exceptional store presentation standards.
- Analyse sales and KPI performance to help identify growth opportunities.
- Support the training, and development of team members.
- Ensure company policies, operational procedures, and loss prevention standards are consistently upheld.
- Take ownership of the store and lead the team in the Store Manager’s absence.
- Assist with stock takes, new product deliveries, and daily operational requirements.
Requirements
- 2–4 years’ experience in a retail leadership role, preferably within fashion retail.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Senior Supervisor, or similar leadership position is advantageous.
- Strong leadership and people development skills.
- Commercial awareness and a customer‑first mindset.
- A passion for fashion, premium customer service, and retail excellence.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment.
