Our support staff are primarily based in South Africa, employed through Block Management Solutions. As we expand, we’re looking for a dedicated Assistant Property Manager to join our Onboarding Team. The role is remote, with occasional use of our co-working space in Stellenbosch for meetings or team events.
The role:
As an Assistant Property Manager (Onboarding Team), you will play a vital role in the smooth onboarding of new residential blocks into our management portfolio. You’ll be responsible for managing the administrative process of new handovers, ensuring all key documents are received, recorded, and verified, while also supporting strong client relationships during the transition phase.
Key Responsibilities:
Handling day-to-day client queries promptly and professionally
Supporting the onboarding and handover process of new blocks
Managing emails, phone calls, and client correspondence
Uploading and saving handover documents to internal systems
Keeping track of incoming information via checklists and spreadsheets
Verifying key documents, including insurance policies, for accuracy and currency
Assisting with queries related to service charges and ground rent billing
Maintaining an accurate key register
Assisting with new block budget setups
Drafting notices and communications for new developments
Providing cover for team members during leave periods
Setting up new blocks in our in-house system
Ensuring contact and asset information is correctly maintained
Attending virtual client meetings and preparing meeting minutes
Supporting a high standard of management and client service during onboarding
Working collaboratively across departments to ensure complete and accurate handovers
Liaising with the HR team on potential TUPE transfers, where applicable
Skills and Qualifications:
Relevant work experience and / or Higher Education Degree
IRPM qualifications or willingness to undertake the exam within 18 months from the date of the employment commencement date
Good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety
Proven experience in assisting a team in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work to strict deadlines and be organised.

Benefits:
Salary Range: R25,000 pm DOE
Remote role with occasional office requirements in Stellenbosch or company socials.
Working hours: 9am -6pm SA time (Mon-Fri)
Annual paid leave of 15 days + public holidays
Additional Requirements:
This is a remote role but requires you to be based in Cape Town due to occasional office visits in Stellenbosch.
Reliable internet access is required during working hours, including during extended load shedding periods.
