Overview
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Occupational Hygiene Officer to join our client’s team in the mining industry. As an Assistant Occupational Hygiene Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Occupational Hygiene team in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Responsibilities:
Conduct workplace assessments to identify health hazards.
Monitor environmental conditions such as air quality and temperature.
Collect and analyze data to identify trends and risks.
Implement control measures to mitigate health risks.
Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports.
Support and deliver hygiene training for employees.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with health and safety teams and other stakeholders.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend safety measures.
Assist in emergency response planning and incidents.
Provide technical support on occupational hygiene and PPE selection.
Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
National Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Health, or related field.
Certification in Occupational Hygiene (., SAIOH) is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational hygiene or related field, preferably in the mining industry.
Knowledge of South African occupational health and safety regulations.
Proficiency in using occupational hygiene monitoring equipment and software.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites.
Physical ability to work in a mining environment.
