A leading organization within the distribution and supply chain industry is seeking a driven and commercially minded Assistant Finance Manager to join its team based in Johannesburg East.

The business provides end-to-end supply chain services and operates across multiple provinces with significant warehouse capacity, supporting large-scale inventory handling and national distribution.
This role offers strong exposure to both finance and operations within a fast-paced, product-driven environment. Backed by a well-established group structure, the business provides a collaborative and performance-driven setting. Reporting to the Group Financial Manager and Operations Manager, the position is ideal for a finance professional looking to enhance their leadership capability and deepen their commercial expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the preparation and review of monthly management accounts
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial planning
- Evaluate financial results and provide insights to support operational decision-making
- Supervise and mentor a junior team member within the finance function
- Maintain the integrity of financial data through accurate reconciliations and reporting
- Partner with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiencies
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom Degree in Accounting (essential)
- Completed articles (essential)
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a finance role within the distribution or supply chain industry
- Previous experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff
- Ability to engage with both finance and operational teams
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
