We are passionate about innovation, operational excellence, and delivering high-quality solutions to the automotive industry. To strengthen our Finance team in Cape Town, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant.
Your Responsibilities
As Assistant Accountant, you will support the financial operations of the business and take responsibility for treasury, creditors, fixed assets, cashbook activities, intercompany transactions, and cost control processes.
Key duties include:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and on time
- Performing creditor reconciliations and resolving account queries
- Creating and maintaining supplier records and documentation
- Processing debtor transactions and preparing debtor statements
- Generating sales invoices in line with dispatch schedules
- Processing sundry sales invoices
- Managing import shipping files and related customs documentation
- Preparing foreign payments and coordinating forex transactions
- Reconciling and loading payments for freight forwarders
- Assisting with statutory returns and related payments (VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, MIBCO)
- Producing cash flow reports, bank reconciliations, and net debt reports
- Supporting inventory activities, including stock takes and stock adjustments
- Preparing travel expenditure and departmental cost analysis reports
- Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting activities
What We’re Looking For
- Higher Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 1–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Team player with strong communication skills
