We’re looking for an experienced Asset Manager to join an Asset Management Company based in Cape Town, owned by one of South Africa’s top-performing investment firms. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial, financial, contractual, and regulatory performance of a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
This role will oversee and report on the day-to-day execution of Asset Management activities across several project companies, ensuring that each project meets its performance targets, complies with its contractual obligations, and delivers expected returns. The Asset Manager will present reports and engage with boards, shareholders, regulators, and other stakeholders while also coordinating with internal teams and service providers.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Engineering or Finance
Strong financial and commercial acumen
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5+ years’ experience in Asset Management within renewable energy infrastructure
Experience managing budgets, reporting to boards, and managing contracts
Strong stakeholder engagement and compliance management experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial, Financial, and Operational Oversight: Oversee the commercial, financial, and operational performance of a portfolio of renewable energy assets
Compliance and Regulatory Obligations: Ensure compliance with all project agreements, regulatory obligations, and lender requirements
Stakeholder Management: Manage key stakeholder relationships, including lenders, regulators, shareholders, and local partners
Financial Planning and Reporting: Lead financial planning and reporting, including budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis
Board Reporting and Presentations: Prepare and present reports to boards and committees, including financial and operational updates
Performance Optimisation: Identify and implement initiatives to optimise project returns and improve asset performance
Contract, Risk, and Governance Support: Support contract management, risk mitigation, and governance processes across the portfolio
SKILLS
Excellent financial modelling and analysis
Strong communication and board reporting skills
Advanced MS Office proficiency
High attention to detail and organisational ability
Sound knowledge of compliance frameworks, contracts, and renewable energy project operations
Project management skills
