Duties
- Perform asbestos abatement procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices to protect yourself and others from exposure.
- Prepare work sites by setting up containment barriers, negative air pressure units, and necessary safety signage.
- Remove and dispose of asbestos-containing materials safely, following all federal, state, and local environmental guidelines.
- Conduct thorough inspections of work areas before, during, and after abatement to ensure compliance and safety standards are maintained.
- Assist with mold remediation and restoration tasks as needed to support comprehensive environmental cleanup projects.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all abatement activities, including logs, inspection reports, and waste disposal records.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and safety personnel to ensure timely completion of projects while upholding the highest safety standards.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations related to asbestos abatement and construction safety practices.
- Proven experience in asbestos removal or related environmental remediation fields such as mold remediation or restoration.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment like HEPA vacuums, negative air machines, and personal protective gear effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail for conducting inspections and ensuring compliance throughout each project phase.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report findings clearly.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
