The Artisan Millwright will be responsible for maintaining the overall effectiveness of equipment and the plants on site which includes Electrical and Mechanical support.
Main Objectives
Safety Management: Adhere to all site PPE, safety requirements, safe operating procedures and work instructions.
Attend safety training, safety meetings, inductions, medical examinations, and safety talks.
Adhere to Lock out and permit procedures.
Maintenance support:
Perform planned maintenance on all Premier Mills. Complete all planned preventative maintenance work orders. Perform overtime duties when required. Prepared to assist with projects. Provide mentorship training assistance for apprentices.
Maintenance management:
Maintain availability of wheat and maize milling machines plant. Execute tasks according to standards (no rework/comebacks). Control job execution times (actual vs. estimate). Provide mentorship training assistance for apprentice and site artisans.
Administration and Housekeeping:
Capturing feedback and time on all completed work orders and completion of necessary inspection of reports. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area through regular housekeeping activities. All machines and tools must be maintained in a clean and operational condition. Adherence to timekeeping is essential.
Qualification Requirements
Matric
N3/N4 Qualification in Relevant field
Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal)
Experience Requirements
Minimum – 5-7 Years in relevant trade – Electrician, Fitter, Millwright
Minimum – 5-7 Years experience on Wheat and Maize Milling Machines
Key Outputs
To anticipate possible machine reliability problems, which could appear and take appropriate actions to ensure manufacturing process continuity
To facilitate and lead problem solving processes; provide inputs/suggestions to the maintenance team leader for continuous improvement
To record and analyse breakdown trends per machine using a maintenance system to motivate equipment improvement or purchases
To render support on ad hoc projects e.g., renovate and refurbish machines/installations and commission to optimize process flow
To ensure compliance with relevant Food Safety, Health Safety and GMP Requirements through the maintenance of process and document controls according to SOP’s
To provide on job coaching for Handyman and Apprentices as and when required in line with Premier’s Leadership promise
To supervise, train and coach Technical Operators regarding SOP’s and work instructions to ensure best operating practices
