Full Job Description
An artisan mechanical fitter is a skilled tradesperson who assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical systems and equipment. This includes tasks like fitting, machining, welding, and using hand and power tools. .
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly and Installation:
Fitting and assembling mechanical components and systems according to specifications and blueprints.
Maintenance and Repair:Diagnosing and repairing faults in machinery, ensuring optimal performance and preventing breakdowns.
Fabrication:Creating and modifying parts using various tools and techniques, including welding.
Troubleshooting:Identifying and resolving mechanical issues in complex systems.
Following Safety Procedures:Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Trade Test Certificate: A recognized qualification in Fitting or Fitting and Turning is essential.
Practical Experience: 1 years of experience after completing the trade test is often required.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical principles,
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical problems efficiently.
Hand Tool Proficiency: Competence in using various hand and power tools.
