REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant NQF Level 5 qualification as a Trade Tested Electrician;
Code C1 Driving License;
Ability to work under pressure;
Good supervisory skills;
Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa).
SALARY: R – R Per Annum
DUTIES:
Implements activities associated with the construction and installations of medium/ low voltage electrical networks;
Reading and interpreting minor drawings/ work orders detailing layout and specifications;
Laying cables and positioning supporting structures (poles) and cleaning and tinning of conductors, binding and strapping, stripping of individual conductors;
Attending to the erection and installation sequences of poles, cross waves, stays, lines, aerial transformers, switch gear, etc;
Terminating cables, wires etc. to junction boxes, connecting blocks and/ or terminals including soldering, fitting of lugs and harnessing wires;
Joining LT and HT cables;
Installing and replacing of new or faulty prepaid and KWH electrical meters to the new customers;
Performs activities and sequences associated with maintaining the functionality of medium/ low voltage electrical reticulation and lighting systems;
Controls tasks/ activities associated with controlling General Workers performance, productivity, and discipline within the functionality;
Monitors the cleaning of worksites, stores equipment and tools and loads materials prior to departure from work site;
Performs specific activities associated with communications and providing support to line functions.
