Role Description:
The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will design, develop, and deploy AI models and systems that power Birbal AI’s productivity and innovation tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and optimizing machine learning models, with a focus on pattern recognition, neural networks, and natural language processing (NLP), as well as integrating these models into production-grade software solutions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, experiment with new algorithms, evaluate model performance, and maintain scalable, reliable AI services. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Thembisile Hani, where regular on-site collaboration is expected, but some work from home is acceptable. The position involves continuous learning, experimentation, and contribution to AI-driven features that improve user experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should possess a strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including proficiency in modern programming languages (such as Python or Java) and experience with software engineering best practices.
- Candidates should possess skills in Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks, with hands-on experience building, training, and optimizing machine learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
- Candidates should possess experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), including working with text data, language models, and relevant libraries or platforms.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, as well as experience in deploying AI models to production in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Additional beneficial skills include familiarity with MLOps practices, version control (e.g., Git), data pipeline tools, and effective communication skills for collaborating with product and business stakeholders.
