We are seeking a qualified and SACAP-registered Architectural Technologist or Architect to join our team for a building design role within a large-scale electrical infrastructure maintenance project. This is a full-time position based in Johannesburg, ideal for a candidate who is passionate about infrastructure-focused architecture and can contribute meaningfully to high-impact utility and engineering environments.
Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma or higher in Architecture (essential)
Registration with SACAP – South African Council for the Architectural Profession (non-negotiable)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in architecture – building design (non-negotiable)
Proven ability to produce technical drawings and architectural layouts
Strong understanding of SANS codes and South African building regulations (non-negotiable)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar architectural design software
NB: Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site assessments and interpret client requirements for building design within infrastructure settings
Design and prepare architectural drawings for new structures or refurbishment of existing electrical buildings and substations
Ensure designs meet safety, technical, and regulatory standards applicable to electrical infrastructure facilities
Collaborate with engineers and other built environment professionals to align design with technical project requirements
Prepare municipal submission documentation and follow up on approvals
Coordinate architectural aspects of construction projects from concept to completion
Conduct design feasibility studies and cost-effectiveness evaluations
Participate in site inspections to ensure design implementation quality and compliance
